What We Do
As Lions we serve and support our community. This includes working with area businesses to collect eyeglasses, hearing aids, and monetary donations throughout the year.

With support from local businesses the BAMM Lions Club is able to reach even farther into the community. Our yearly fundraising activities include selling peanuts in the fall, collecting money for White Cane in the fall and spring, and a pancake breakfast in the spring.

The BAMM Lions Club:
  • Collects eyeglasses and hearing aids
  • Provides vision and hearing tests to those in need
  • Buys eyeglasses and hearing aids for people who cannot afford to purchase their own
  • Partners with LensCrafters to identify vision impaired school children
  • Provides administrative and logistical support to Remote Area Medical's (RAM) annual event in Southwest Virginia
  • Supports 22 different organizations in the Richmond metropolitan area that provide services to help the blind and others in need
  • Assists with Swing for Sight, a charity golf program
  • Participates in the Call 12 program with WWBT Channel 12
  • Contributes to disaster response and assistance programs as needed
  • Participates in the Adopt-A-Highway Program - responsible for cleaning Buford Road four times a year
  • Help other Lions members when they may need special assistance
  • Participate in local community parades

    Copyright 2009 WTVR-TV, Richmond - Petersburg, Virginia

In July, Lion Frank Carlomagno and Caroline Woolridge represented the BAMM Lions Club on the television program Virginia This Morning. They did a wonderful job of explaining what we do and bringing the Lions Club experience to life. Thank you to  them both for representing the club.

Also, thank you to Julie Bragg, Greg McQuade and WTVR 6 for allowing BAMM Lions
    to use this video.
